School History

Where did the name come from? - "Winburn"

Our school was built on land in northern Fayette County formerly owned by historian Winston Coleman and his wife, Burnetta. "Winburn" is taken from their first names.

About the School

Built in 1970 and first introduced as Winburn Junior High, we have been proud to serve our families for over 50 years.  We are an integral part of this community, its history, and its future.  Several generations of Warriors have passed through our hallways since our birth.  While they may have gone on to be Bryan Station Defenders, Henry Clay Blue Devils, Dunbar Bulldogs, and more, but we believe this to be true...
